Wojciech “MC Walzer” Walziński is a 23-year-old rapper from Warsaw’s Powiśle district who blends classic literature with the rawness of the streets. Inspired by Polish poets — especially the Skamander movement — and the new wave of rap (Mata, Żabson, UK drill), he’s carving out his own path somewhere between poetry and gritty, alternative hip-hop. Listening to him feels like Tuwim just dropped a beat, and Mickiewicz is dapping up the boys from the block.
Walzer is currently finishing his debut album, Manifest — a record that aims to fuse literary tradition with cutting-edge music production. The first single, “GVB” (inspired by Julian Tuwim’s Grande Valse Brillante), has the potential to shake up the scene. Walzer hopes to resurrect the spirit of poetry and crown old-school poets as trap kings. Is the Polish audience ready? He’s not asking for permission — he’s just doing his thing.
